2010 Christmas Wishlist

[UPDATE: The items "strikethrough-ed" were already given and not a part of the list anymore.

Christmas is just around the corner... and I just realized that I haven't posted my wishlist for this season. Wishlist, yes—my yearly tradition to post the crappy things I want for Christmas. Beware for its just purely material things in here.

Over the years, around one to three wishes were granted. Don't you just love it when something you really really want was given to you? As for me, I love receiving gift and I love it more when what I want was given. Plus, it lessens the stress of the people around me of thinking what gift to give.

Here's my list:
(in no particular order)

1. Portable Book Light Clip

I think I have two book lights but the clipper is already broken. If you are thinking of a good gift to give me, this would be one of them and surely this would be really really helpful. As most of you know, I read a lot in the car/bus during my travel.
Price: From 50 php to 500php
Where to Buy: Japan Home Center, Bookstores, Divi
[Anything would do... take away Hello Kitty from the picture and I'm good with it.]

2. Steering Wheel Cover

I prefer the Hello Kitty one but black and pink combinations looks good for Chimie(my car's name) too.
Price: 500php ++
Where to Buy: Auto Shops, Hello Kitty stores

3. Philips Earphones Colour Tunes Pink
I love this earphones. I used to have this, but, several months ago the left ear already gave up. =( I'm really  planning to buy the same pair and style, for it served me well for about two years. If you want to give me a gift this Christmas that I would really use to the lifetime of two years... GIVE THIS!
Price: Less than 700php
Where to Buy: Music Stores, Electronic and Gadget hubs, Malls, etc.

4. iPhone 4 Case or other accessories (Pink or Fuchsia)

Y'all know that I'll be buying an iPhone anytime soon. I might buy this before Christmas. So, I'll appreciate it if what you'll give me will be of good used to this new toy of mine. Though, I'm still thorn between iPhone 4 and iPhone 5... Help me decide by giving me an iPhone 4 accessory.
Price: 300 to 500 php
Where to Buy: Electronic and Gadget hubs, Malls, etc.

5. Girly Camera Strap [DSLR]

I've been wanting a cute girly camera strap ever since I bought Sonya. So, please you know what to do.
Price: 500 to 2,000
Where to Buy: Online, Quiapo, Malls, etc.

6. UP Official Jacket

I bet any Fighting Maroon would love this. I will never forget the person who will give this to me... and on my Graduation, might be two years from now, I will invite you! I promise! C'mon gimme...I will truly cherish this gift.
Price: 2,400++
Where to buy: Adidas Kiosks

7. Starbucks Stainless Steel Tumble

I don't have to elaborate on this stuff... red, stainless, lovely... COFFEE! Thanks in advance! Or you can just give me GC's =)
Price: Around $20.00 [I'll check the local price]
Where to buy: Starbucks Cafe

8. The gift of choice

Yes, money. Only because some people are really too busy to buy gifts and I have the time so... the gift of choice is your resort.

So, that's my Christmas list for this year. As I always say every year, you don't have to give me these things but if you would I'd appreciate it if you do give. Also, a sweet Merry Christmas text message would do, a warm Christmas call is even better and if you drop by our house on Christmas Day that's the best. Who knows? I might even give you a special gift. Plus, you get to enjoy the food, fun and games our family will be preparing. Merry Christmas!!!

Chrismassy Soundtrack

I advance think everything. I tend to imagine things 6 months or so before it happens. I begin planning my birthday on January but the real party comes June. And after my birthday, the next big event I anticipate is the Christmas.

How long 'till Christmas?
My countdown says it's 41 days.

A month and a couple of days. Right? It's nearing. I haven't accomplished Christmas wishlist, Christmas gift list, Christmas menu and everything else about Christmas.

The only thing that I organized was my Christmas Playlist:

1. Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Mandy Moore and Usher

2. Oh Holy Night - Westlife

3. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Jon Bon Jovi

4. Christmas Medley - a1

5. All I Want For Christmas Is You -  Mariah Carey

6. Last Christmas - Taylor Swift

7. My Only Wish (This Year)- Britney Spears

8. Where Are You Christmas - Faith Hill

9. Jingle Bell Rock - Mean Girls

10. Yule Shoot Your Eye Out

11. Sana Ngayong Pasko - Ariel Rivera

12. Hosanna Ngayong Pasko - Parokya ni Edgay with Ely Buendia

13. Sa Araw ng Pasko - All Star Cast

14. Pasko sa Pinas - Yeng Constantino

15. Tuloy na Tuloy Pa Rin ang Pasko - Regine Velasquez

Advance Merry Christmas Everyone!

The Starbucks 2011 Planner

November is the best time of the year to get a planner. Plan your life 2 months ahead for the coming year. Make sure you plan it well and organized, especially the out of town vacays and extra important occays you’ll attend.

from Roelle
There are lots of beautiful planners out there.

Belle de Jour is my personal favorite. There’s Design Your Life planner sold at Multiply. A lot were sold on bookstores. Some schools also have their very own academe planner versions. There’s a couple available at Coffee shops that comes free after indulging yourself to cups of coffee.

One of the much awaited coffee Planners is the Starbucks planner. Starbucks Planner 2011 is a pretty good choice for a planner. But it’s quite hard to own one, at least for me. One needs to collect a number of stickers that goes with every cup purchase to avail the planner.

The planners are out today at any Starbucks Branch. The limited edition Starbucks Coffee 2011 Planner comes in five color themes.  With just 17 stickers to collect, your very own planner is yours to keep.

from supeRODman
Also, the 3 seasonal Starbucks Christmas coffees are back… Of the three, I love the Toffee Nut Latte, hot and cold.

from pinoycravings
What is your sticker collecting strategy? If the planner ever comes in pink… expect me to throw a coffee party the same day. Perhaps, that’ll also be the time I’ll die to own and have a Starbucks Limited Edition Planner.

Also, if you’re not of an avid Starbucks coffee drunkard, I’m sure you can get it on e-bay and if you can wait a little longer, the planner prices on e-bay downs really during the 1st quarter of the planner’s year.

But! Hey! It’s not just about the stickers and the planner, not even the coffee… It’s about the time you and your coffee-cupship buddy spent together.

It is Written

Welcome 2k10!

Ten years ago… piles of holiday school tasks was on my study desk. Cramming, for Monday was its deadline.

- make new years’ resolution. Check.
- Math problem solving projects. Check.
- English Writing composition. Pending.
What is it about: “Who will I be ten years from now?”

If I can see the future then…

I would have written, “I’m probably sitting. Typing my very 1st blog this year rather than… “I already graduated in college. I have a stable writing job. I’m able to support myself and repay the kindness of my parents.”

I would have written, “It’s the 1st day of work. I’m really sleepy. The holiday vibe still lingers in me. As if I never worked at all.”

I would have written, “Here I am writing my new years’ resolution… thinking, wond‘ring, praying that this time it will be resolved.”

I would have written, “Here I am developing CD-ROM activities for kids like me.”

I would have written, “Here I am… looking back at my life what I was doing the same time 10 years ago…”

2009 was a very fulfilling yet sad year.

The 1st quarter was full of job hunting.
On the 5th month, I was accepted to my very 1st office job(take note this isn’t freelance baby!)
The 5th month went easy. I love my job. My bosses are nice. I found new friendships in this company.
The 6th month was the lowest point of my year. My grandmother died. No one expected it—a cardiac arrest.
The 7th month was hard… dealing with pain and great lost. Adjusting. Work is light and easy. I love what I’m doing minus the online products sorting(me hates it).
The 8th month… sad month… my partner in work left. I was transferred to another department.
9th-10th I couldn’t remember anything remarkable at all…. Wait there's Rocky and Jamie’s 1st date. 
11th month… family gathering at the cemetery…. Halloween.
12th month- after so many years, Papa celebrated his birthday again. Then… Christmas… Then New year.

How come when I try to remember things about the previous year… there’s only two things I remember clearly… I got accepted in my very first office job and my grand mother died in this year.

Should it always be the happiest and the saddest? Should it always be like that? How about the other memoirs? How about when I smiled and felt Christmas is here again?

I would have written, “I’m probably jotting down the achievement of my previous year”

I would have written…

“Christmas and New Year was way different now than the previous years…. Ever since my grand mother died it was way different.

There’s sago, there’s gulaman. We have pastries and pasta. Lechon was on its way. The traditional menu of menudo and kaldereta is all set in the table. And for the 1st time in my life, we don’t have UBE for our Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

Symbolizing something was lost and missing.

How does one make ube? I don’t know the matrix. Maybe it was made of gabi? I have no idea. I never made one.

The only story I know behind it was… when one cooks it, she should stir it every now and then… making the arms, hands and shoulder ache of endless stirring. I also know that it is very soft when it’s hot and as it cools it hardens. And, oh, it’s also topped with cheese.

My grand mother cooks it for us. Every year she cooks it the morning before Christmas Eve. To ensure its freshness… that can last until new years’ eve.

It may not be the star of our Noche Buena or Media Noche but not having it this year makes me realize it’s not the ube that’s missing… but the one that makes the ube for us.”

The first day of ber

September 1, 2009. Christmas is nearing. Another year is passing by… What happened this year? Its highlights? Is there something to remember or I chose to forget it all away?

Finally, got a job, an office/everyday writing job away from freelance. And I’m losing it. How come when a dream comes true, someone’s dream gone out of the blue?

Finally, V and I had our 5 yrs in the making story… but ended in a snap.

I’m single. Still. And counting 5 months now.

I’m waiting. Yes I’m waiting for you army, comeback for me.

Hearing the song, “Last Christmas I gave you my heart.” Crazy. I’m not in love last Christmas. I was single.

How many times have I said single in this blog entry? 3? What is happening now? I am getting used to the single word. I am typing it now with no scratch in my heart. Could it be that I am happily accepting that I am single now right? Could it be that my plan of being like my Aunt who thinks differently will now come to life? As in am I, myself, ready to be forever I? Me? Single?

I still don’t know. Why talk about singleness in the 1st day of the ber months? I don’t know too. Will consult a psychiatrist later.

Ok for the serious sense-ly stuff. …

I love ber months. For it gives me the notion of a new chance. A new hope. A new beginning for the coming year. It gives me life, a chance, a comeback. It makes me feel that there is life no matter how nega the previous year was.

It also gives me the chance to be able to eat Bibingka. Seriously, its one of the worlds most delicious food—for me.

I’m also excited about how cool the breeze would be now.

I love sun. I’m solar girl. I love the night. I love cold weather. I love tagaytay, baguio, US. I hate carrots with no reason at all. I just created that I was allergic to it so no one can ever force me eat it ^_^

When will the time that I will love and hate again? When?

So Remember Me One Day as Kind

When I die, I want people to remember me as kind. It hasn’t always been that way. Four years ago, I was a very different person, a wounded...
