100 Faces of Noynoy

On July 19-22, the week before Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s July 25 State of the Nation Address, Alay Sining will launch an exhibit featuring 100 works depicting the many faces of Noynoy.

Aquino has been president for one year. In that period, the price of oil and other basic commodities has spiraled upwards, spending on social services like health and education has decreased, and corruption continues to flourish. Amidst these crises, the public has been treated to a barrage of stories about Noynoy’s girlfriends, his Porsche, and his family’s still-undistributed, 6,400-hectare Hacienda Luisita.

We invite everyone to submit artworks featuring their perceived face of Noynoy to Alay Sining. The deadline is July 15. Submissions may be in the form of paintings, illustrations, comic strips, songs, stories, poetry, photographs, short plays, or any other visual, written or performed art form, for inclusion in the exhibit. (RSVP here!)
