Q: Do I need to register?

A: No registration needed. Just open your web browser, your Uzzap or GoMail application and go!

Q: Is there a special keyword or URL to visit?

Q: I don’t have a mobile internet capable phone. How can I participate in the promo?

A: In order to browse the web using your phone, you must have at the least a GPRS handset. Smelling Salt Sequel

Entering movie houses before the show starts gives you A+ updates for next movies to hit the big screens. For awhile, we’ve been seeing the trailer of a blond Angelina Jolie questioning a defector who accuses her to be Russian spy.

The trailer of Salt itself lures viewers to look forward to seeing the entire film, especially we’ve been missing Jolie in the big screens for quite sometime now.

Summary

Evelyn Salt swore an oath to duty, honor and country as a CIA officer. She will prove her loyalty to them after a Soviet defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. While Salt's tries to prove her innocence, only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: "Who is Salt?"

Review:

Having no time to spare and on a rush to make her hubby a dinner for their wedding anniversary, Evelyn Salt was called back to question a walk-in Soviet defector who spilled that Soviet developed a program to win the war by programming young children, shipping them to America, and activating them later in life.

The Soviet defector names Evelyn Salt as the Russian spy who will kill the president. As part of the S.O.P., Salt was hold for further questioning. Things would have been fine, if she weren’t freaking worried that these Russians will go after her husband. With her skills and years of experience, she was able to slip out of the building to find her hubby—puts her on the chase as instant suspect and fugitive.

As the movie progresses, it only leads watchers to be confused over and over on who really Salt is. It’s a twist, turn and never ending question of “Is this Salt--the programmed Russian spy or the CIA wanting to find the truth behind?

It’s a superb movie with heart-stopping, fast, exciting, hot, wild, suspense and smart movie. Obviously, the movie is not in any way gonna happen in reality… But who cares? That’s something what we always wanted: to cross the borders of reality and be more of what we ought to be in real life.

Skipping the other details, the ending looks like there’s a sequel to come. I’ll bet there’s a second part to this movie because it ended in away that one would want to see more. Well, who wouldn’t want hot Jolie with a gun in her hand and in her crazy stunts AGAIN?

What are you waiting for? Rush to the nearest movie theater, grab some popcorn and don’t forget SALT.

Jolie wasn’t the first choice for the lead role. Originally, in 2007, Tom Cruise was set to star! The first draft of the script followed Edwin A. Salt (a MALE) as he tried to prove his innocence of being a sleeper spy. When Cruise left the project, Jolie got her hands on the script and soon Edwin became Evelyn. The result is one of the summer’s most thrilling action movies and a new face in the pantheon of great ass-kicking female characters.

GOOFS:

• Revealing mistakes: In one shot, a SWAT officer can be seen holding a Colt Model 933 carbine fitted with an EOTech red dot sight, the sight being mounted backwards on the weapon.
• Continuity: When Salt walks into the holding room to interrogate Orlov, she places a black plastic ashtray containing a pack of cigarettes on the corner of the table. It stays there throughout several following scenes, but has vanished when she's in the room alone.
• Continuity: When Evelyn is climbing on the outside of the building, in some shots her dog's head is visible sticking out of her backpack. In other shots the backpack is zipped up tight.

• Continuity: Salt packs her backpack with bomb goods, spider venom, etc. She eventually gets captured, when the backpack and the goods would have been confiscated, but after having escaped capture she uses those items while on her mission.
• Errors in geography: In one of the Washington DC scenes, Salt is seen entering the Archives/Navy Memorial Metro station, and emerging from the L'Enfant Plaza station, without ever boarding a train.
• Continuity: When Evelyn first goes on the run, she enters a stairwell, takes off her shoes and tosses them in the corner. The next shot shows the security camera's view. The shoes are in a different position.

Not so noob ways to know the not so unknown sender

I rarely text. The only person that I make it a point to text every-single-day is my Mom… But with other people—I don’t, it’s not a thing that suits me. I prefer receiving texts than sending out. I would rather call, send a face book message, buzz you in ym, or email than text.

As my chit-chat says in my previous blog, the “third way” deleted all my contacts on my phone. It would’ve fine if I can sync my contacts (from ovi that’s in my laptop) right away, but since I’m stuck in the office all day… I have no choice but to guess all day of who texts me.

One new message received. Who could this be? It says “good morning =)” Of course, it’s not him; I know his number (at least the last 4 digits). I need to know who texted but it would sound stupid if I’ll say, “Who you? I lost all my contacts when I reset my phone?” I don’t want to sound stupid so I thought of a way to know who texts me without going all the way to the “Who you?” text.

So what should someone do if he/she would like to know who texts him/her without asking—“Who you?”

1. Reply
Obviously, you want to know who texted so you have to start conversing. Continue replying until you know who the texter is.

2. Go with the flow of the conversation.
If the person keeps on replying, ask the same question he/she asks you. Take note of the words, events and stories the person shares for this will root you to who the texter is.

3. Guess
Address the texter with another name, a guess name. This is quite a suicide for the texter can ignore you a lifetime for this. But this can be a good bait as well… For this message can make the texter tell you his/her name… “Hey this is not ______ this is _____. Are you wrong sent or something?”



And if all else fail, just call, listen to the voice and sure you’ll see the soul behind it.

Reset, regret

Its been awhile since I subscribe to a 5 days unlimited SMS service. Too bad that on the day that I subscribed to it, my phone experienced “defer sending problems.” Dunno if that’s the techie term for it, but the sure thing is that it postpones the messages I send. It still sends message but the sending takes too long. Then, it moves the message to the outbox folder and gives the forever message status: sending message.

I’ve endured it for 2 days. Actually, the solution to this phone problem is easy. I’ve know this problem before. My Nokia 5110 and 7270 had this problem a hundred times.

There are three ways to solve this:

First: Call your network hotline. Usually, they would ask what happened. Next thing they’ll tell you is to check on the SMS centre number of the phone. That brings you to the second way.

Second: Check the SMS centre number of your phone. (You can usually find this in the message settings tab of your phone.) Make sure that it’s the pre-loaded with the SMS centre of the network provider. I call this the second way, for you can easily just skip the 1st way. Yeah, you don’t have to bug some CSR to know the SMS centre. You can have it your way by finding a friend of the same network and just copy the SMS centre number from him/her. If everything else fails, precede to the third way… it always works.

Third: Reset you phone. If soft reset doesn’t work, hard reset will surely do. 

The third way works for me all the time. It’s just when I use this way, I usually forget to do some safety measures before resetting.

After enduring this sending problem for two days, I realized today that I should just reset my phone. Since it’s my first time to reset my x6(bought this last February?), I’m noob to the reset ways. Glad, internet was always a hero. I was able to find one site that tells me how to reset it and the instructions was easy: (1) Turn off your phone, (2) press the answer call, call end, camera shutter, and on/off button simultaneously, and (3) Turn off the phone – when it opens, you the phone is successfully reset.

Short and sweet instructions… huh? Yes but, sadly, it didn’t remind me of the dangers it will bring me. After I reset my phone, I realized I didn’t back up so my phone contacts and messages were all deleted.

Crazy. I have ovi at home but I’m not sure yet if it can import the sync contacts back to my phone… Let’s hope…! So the next time you’ll do something crazy with your phone(like me) make sure you are off to a back up plan….if something goes VERY wrong.

Of Half Truths and Whole Lies

I thought you got me at “Hi babe!” But I got you more.

I asked your name and obviously, what you gave isn’t your real name. I know this game. So when it’s your turn to ask, I played along—lied.

You ask me how old I am… that I answered truthfully. I am 23, you are 20. Young. 20 is young to me. 3 years younger than me is young. Right after that last question, I know it’s not my game anymore.

I tried to walk away but your hands already grabbing mine. I need to find a way to escape. “Tell me about yourself,” you asked. Not interested in knowing you at all, I told you, “I’m single but I have a kid.”

Then, in a sudden, I found myself listening to every word you say. You have a child and you still love your ex-wife. Though you corrected me a few times that she wasn’t and will never be your wife… that I don’t believe.

You say, “You value your privacy…but why are you telling me things that I shouldn’t know?”

And you told me you hate me…

Why? Coz the more you lie the more you want to tell me the truth?

Oh life. When I start to lie, people start to tell the truth.
