Five love stories: Lost, Never Found

I was rushing to Manila that day. I’m not this type of person... everything for me is planned, 3 days or a week advanced. Silly me for not being able to prepare much for this day... Perhaps, I never wanted this day to come.

Aside from the fact that I would be having a goodbye party with the small office friends I have, It is also the day that I would be giving back C’s stuff… these are the things that he gave me in the short span of our relationship.

Crappy lil material things that were “ONCE” the sweetest gifts I ever received. I was supposed to mail a black ring, a Starbucks phone chain and the beads bracelet he left at my car in one of our meetings. For the value of money, I decided to include the book I bought for him when we are still together… in the mail!

The Book? Yes, a book by Ricky Lee… The book is titled, “Para Kay B”… bought it because I wanted to alter it to “Para Kay Babe”. It was a popular book but I never thought that it was popular when I saw it in the bookstore… I only browsed the pages and thought these are FIVE cool love stories but, now, that I already read it—it’s some of the rare love stories with sad and tragic. How C and mine’s love end. Too sad, too tragic, truly meant to be.

So I planned to ship the book with the gifts to his house… but something happened. I thought that before the party I would be able to pass by LBC or DHL or FeDex but I didn’t have enough time for it since I was really rushing. I decided to go straight to the party and just ship it on another date.

That’s the plan but that wouldn’t happen anymore… In the party, I left my bag and the small orange plastic bag with the package… I was drinking chatting with my friends with this package near my bag 10 inches away from me. I’m not even drunk that time. When Cinderella’s time struck that I have to go home, I was looking for the small orange plastic bag and it was gone… My bag is still there but the orange plastic thingy is gone. I asked my friends if they saw it and none of them saw… I tried to look for it but it was gone.

Maybe an angel snatched it to make me realized that everything is gone… the end… fin. Now, somewhere, here, still hurts and aches. At times, I still want to cry but there are no more tears. I already changed numbers but, everyday, I still insert that SIMcard wait for 5 minutes for anything but nothing is received.

To that angel who got that package, you can give it to him (it’s a package... his address is well written there), keep it or throw it away. It’s up to your hands now…

But for me, it’s gone, lost and will never be found.

OtterBox Pink is Strength Series

OtterBox is a leading global company that manufactures the highest quality of cellphone  cases. It gives guarantee to protect any device safe.

Starting with something as simple as a box, OtterBox was created in 1998 and built upon fundamentals of hard work, creativity and perseverance. The cases are dedicated to all the klutzy, spontaneous, chaotic, graceless individuals who have broken a device or valuable due to their active lifestyle!

CEO Curt Richardson  promoted the development of OtterBox product lines from waterproof boxes into four lines of device-specific cases for today's hottest technologies.
Similar to an otter's fur, the original line of cases is waterproof. So to incorporate that element with the fun and playful disposition of the animal the CEO and his wife came up with the name OtterBox while brainstorming company names during a drive to Denver, Colo.

OtterBox is located in one of the greatest cities in America - Fort Collins, Colo.

PINK IS STRENGTH

Since I'm a user of blackberry now, I'm personally endorsing OtterBox... especially their Pink is Strength line cases. OtterBox first introduced “Pink is Strength” case for the Blackberry Curve 8520 and 8530. Later on,  OtterBox decided to think of other stylish cases with this link.
Today,  OtterBox  released a special edition for this type of cases in support for the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. The new case for Blackberry Torch 9800 is all in pink and offers a good level of protection as you used to see from the manufacturer. Not only that, 10% of each purchase goes to charity as well. The case belongs to commuter series and got the name ‘strength’ for some obvious reasons.

“In an effort to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer, Colorado tech accessory company, OtterBox offers limited edition pink and white BlackBerry cases. Ten percent of the purchase price is donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade to support finding a cure for breast cancer and advancing access to care for all, regardless of ability to pay. The newest edition to the “Strength” line is for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone.”
To obtain one, checkout different OtterBox kiosks (SM Megamall Cyberzone, SM Annex, Wifi Trading, 2f Theater Mall, Greenhills) all over the Philippines. You can visit their facebook fanpage, e-mail them, or call:  (02) 7500312 and look for Jackie. 100 Faces of Noynoy

On July 19-22, the week before Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s July 25 State of the Nation Address, Alay Sining will launch an exhibit featuring 100 works depicting the many faces of Noynoy.

Aquino has been president for one year. In that period, the price of oil and other basic commodities has spiraled upwards, spending on social services like health and education has decreased, and corruption continues to flourish. Amidst these crises, the public has been treated to a barrage of stories about Noynoy’s girlfriends, his Porsche, and his family’s still-undistributed, 6,400-hectare Hacienda Luisita.

We invite everyone to submit artworks featuring their perceived face of Noynoy to Alay Sining. The deadline is July 15. Submissions may be in the form of paintings, illustrations, comic strips, songs, stories, poetry, photographs, short plays, or any other visual, written or performed art form, for inclusion in the exhibit. (RSVP here!)

iPod Flip Flops

Reblogging from Unbox.Ph:

The iPod is undeniably a revolutionary product. Aside from the fact that almost every kid (or anyone with disposable income) has one, it paved the way for Apple’s post PC devices like the iPhone and the iPad. Ever wanted iSlippers? Well here’s the closest we’ll get to one! Oh, this one is Filipino made too! A group of Pinoy entrepreneurs came together and put up Sole Flip Flops. They have a great line of well designed slippers including one inspired by the iconic iPod.

Sole iPod-themed Flip Flops
Here’s the official product description from the website:
You’re a fan. But no matter how many times you send in your suggestions, Apple still refuses to produce iSlippers. You don’t understand. You’re not asking for anything special, just a pair of slippers that can charge your ref, update you on celebrity gossip, and make toast.
I couldn’t resist the brilliant marketing so I ended up getting a pair! Had some fun taking photos of them too!

Tugs-tugs-tugs-tugs-tugs with my iPod Slippers!
See even my friend, Alcs Porras, renowned rave-wear and eclectic fashion designer had fun with them! After all music is a great unifier!

Booyah. ^^
Sole sells their Flip Flops for Php450. They’re made from excellent material and they employ Filipino workforce. Yes people, these babies aren’t made in China. That’s the reason why Unbox highly recommends their products. If ever you’re in the market for witty, well-built, and Filipino-made slippers, try out Sole Flip Flops.
Update: They just opened their concept store in Cubao Expo. Drop by if you guys want a pair!

YOU KNOW YOU LOVE HIM: Ed Westwick for Penshoppe

May 29: Penshoppe announced that Chuck Bass will arrive in the Philippine shores.

June 1: Philippines Welcomes Chuck Bass, Ed Westwick in real life, as Penshoppe's newest brand endorser, after another worldwide popular singer-actress Mandy Moore.

June 2: Ed shoots for PENSHOPPE
Behind the scenes shoot
June 3: Press Conference

What he thinks of the Philippines:
"You have a beautiful city here, a beautiful country, and beautiful, fantastic people."
On the similarities and differences between him and his character Chuck Bass:
"We're both male. We both look alike, which is very strange, isn't it? But no, we're actually very different. He's such an amazing character to play, so much fun, and I have a great time working with the all the people working in the show, but I live quite a different life, I'm afraid to say. I don't ride the limousine quite often.
But one thing he will never have on me is this English charm. He's got that American charm, but he doesn't have the English charm, you know."

On how he has changed because of Chuck Bass:

"[I've learned] how not to mistreat women. [Chuck] has been pretty awful at times, and I've learned what not to do."
On proving to people that he is more than just Chuck Bass:

"Professionally, when you're part of a show that becomes so well-known and, within that, you have a character that is a bit iconic, perhaps, a lot of people know the character, a lot of people admire the character and [are] entertained by him.
But you begin to be directly associated with that character. I think, professionally, it's important to look for other work that brings you to a different role, to a different character."

On Manila:

"This is my first time in the Philippines, and I have to say [it's been] really good because everyone's made me feel really, really welcome... I was feeling a little jetlagged until I came out here, and there are lots of bright lights and lots of people, so now I'm wide awake.
"It's been a very, very good trip. Everything's gone really, really well. We had a great time during the shoot yesterday. That was fantastic. Everybody involved in Penshoppe has been amazing. And then today I went out on a boat around Manila Bay. I went to take a look at the Manila skyline. You have a beautiful city here, a beautiful country, and beautiful, fantastic people."

On his new film project, Romeo and Juliet, where plays Tybalt:

"Yeah, [I'm] really excited. We got a really, really great script. It’s keeping the traditional flow of the Shakespeare traditional language but it's more accessible to a contemporary generation. And yeah, it's going to be fantastic. Hailee Steinfeld is playing Juliet—very talented actress—and I get to play the wonderful role of Tybalt, the cousin of Juliet. It's going to be an amazing time. We're going to shoot in Verona... We'll get to bring probably the most famous story of all time back to life."

On being thought of as "stylish":

"It pays to look nice. I think fashion is an important part of our lives in this day and age, it's [a form of] self-expression, of self-reflection. Clothes make you feel confident, they make you feel good."

On the Penshoppe collection being a mix of Chuck Bass's and his own style:

"I think they are a combination [of Chuck Bass's and my style]. There aren't any multi-colored bowties or anything like that; there [are] lots of really cool jeans, great denims and great jackets."

On why he thinks he was chosen as Penshoppe's new poster boy:

"I'd like to think I'm bringing a lot of my personality to [the Penshoppe campaign], as someone who's driven, somebody who's ambitious, somebody who's approachable. I think that's what Penshoppe is trying to do. It's an expression of creativity and there's also an international appeal. I think it's about bringing a global kind of feature to the brand."

So Remember Me One Day as Kind

When I die, I want people to remember me as kind. It hasn’t always been that way. Four years ago, I was a very different person, a wounded...
