WHAT: Aural X: An Electronica Workshop with Ely Buendia
WHEN: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. on August 27, 2011 (Saturday)
WHERE: U-View Theater, B/L Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street 

Create your own electronic masterpiece under the tutelage of Pinoy music icon Ely Buendia. This intensive 12-hour program will take you through all the different aspects of music production – from conceptualization to songwriting to musical arrangement – using just an iPad, the GarageBand app, and the right-side of your brain. 


Be prepared for a remarkable aural experience, and the opportunity to work with industry pros who will contribute their expertise to your track. 


This workshop is open to male and female applicants ages 13 and above. Applicants must not possess any prior knowledge in music production. Music professionals are not eligible for the workshop. To apply, download the application form here. 


Compose a verse made up of three lines in a 5-7-5 meter. Submit the verse, along with the fully accomplished application form by e-mailing both to auralxmusicworkshop@fullybookedonline.com. The poem and application form must be attached to the same e-mail message. You will receive a confirmation e-mail for your entry. Incomplete application forms will be considered invalid. 

The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. on August 21, 2011 (Sunday). Ten participants will be chosen, and will be notified via e-mail. The participants must confirm their attendance by replying to the e-mail. They must then place a 50% down payment of the P2000 registration fee at the customer service counter of Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street within 5 days after they receive their confirmation e-mail. This includes meals, equipment, a certificate of completion, and a digital copy of their track. Only participants accepted into the program will be required to pay the workshop fee.

All About Saints

Today, there are over 10,000 named saints and blessed. However, the Roman Martyology and Orthodox sources have no definitive "head count" for them.

How does the Church choose saints?


Canonization is used way back the 10th century by the Church to name a saint. For hundreds of years, saints were chosen by public acclaim. This is the more democratic way to recognize saints compared to the process we now have....


In 1983, Pope John Paul II changed how saints are chosen. The process of canonization now  begins after the death of a Catholic whom many people claimed to be holy. Often, the process starts many years after death in order give perspective on the candidate. The local bishop investigates the candidate's life and writings for heroic virtue (or martyrdom) and orthodoxy of doctrine. Then, a panel of theologians at the Vatican evaluates the candidate. After approval by the panel and cardinals of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, the pope proclaims the candidate "venerable."


The next step, beatification, requires evidence of one miracle (except in the case of martyrs). Since miracles are considered proof that the person is in heaven and can intercede for us, the miracle must take place after the candidate's death and as a result of a specific petition to the candidate. When the pope proclaims the candidate beatified or "blessed," the person can be venerated by a particular region or group of people with whom the person holds special importance.


Only after one more miracle will the pope canonize the saint (this includes martyrs as well). The title of saint tells us that the person lived a holy life, is in heaven, and is to be honored by the universal Church. Canonization does not "make" a person a saint; it recognizes what God has already done.


Though canonization is infallible and irrevocable, it takes a long time and a lot of effort. So while every person who is canonized is a saint, not every holy person has been canonized. You have probably known many "saints" in your life, and you are called by God to be one yourself.

...Or the lying down game

Planking or the lying down game is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the internet is an integral part of the game. Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play. The term planking refers to mimicking a wooden plank.

Many participants of planking since 2011 have photographed the activity on unusual locations such as atop poles, roofs and vehicles, while some "plankers" engage in the activity by planking only their upper body and feet while leaving the back suspended.

Who started this craze?



Planking is claimed to have been invented by Gary Clarkson and Christian Langdon in 1997. It was first played and became popular in North East England. However, comedian Tom Green claims to have invented "planking" as early as 1994.


The lying down game spread to the rest of the world, where it has also been known as 시체놀이 or playing dead in South Korea on 2003, à plat ventre or On one’s belly in France on 2004, extreme lying down in Australasia on 2008, facedowns in USA and Ireland on 2010), and planking in Australia & New Zealand and worldwide this year.

Goodbye Chimie

The name of my car is Chimie. It's a Suzuki Wagon-R Wide Model in black, imported from Japan. Did I say Black? But It's very pink and white inside. Believe me! Yeah, I know GIRLY.

It was a graduation gift to me of my parents. It's official birthday is May 27, 2007, same as the date of my graduation.


It was sold last Wednesday, July 20, 2011, to a very good family from Tondo. The parents said that their daughter would use it in UST. She's a tourism student there.

I hope Chimie likes her new owners. Sorry Chimie. We all need to move on. Keep some things and let go of some. In my life, you are one of those that I need to let go. But that doesn't mean that I will not remember you because YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY FIRST CAR. 


Why sell this car?
I don't know... In the four years that we've been together, it served me well. It never stopped in the middle of any roads. But I have to admit that there are times when it fails to Start on me. Despite that, Chimie is a good girl.


Sold this car because it's getting old... and of course, we always want something better. My next CAR? YUNG BONGGA KAHIT BAHA! HAHAHA! 

So for everyone who will see Chimie in Manila... I don't own that car anymore... And Please do give me a hug or a tap to her. I will miss her.

To Write What's Left

It used to go this way... when I started writing about it and finished it, I'm over it.
I'm done and not looking back. It's like a developed film that I can look over and over... a memory. But it will never again happen. It's like a harry potter movie, that's it and nothing comes next. Like a fairytale, no matter how it ends, just ends. Like a story that when it's published, it will only be achived for reference.Like a running wind, it will never come back.

Now, I want to write it so that it would go away. But whenever I touch a pen, it writes nothing. I tried to look for words but when my mind starts to think, the memories goes back, as if all was happening again... like a song's refrain playing over and over.

Like a thief in the middle of the night to make it even more bleed.

I'm flying today... for GOOD. The definite comeback should be six months to a year after. If I'm not back in a year, it only means that I won't be back in a couple of years or more.

Wish me luck in this new endeavor. May I find peace and happiness in this fate. 

Of course, this blog would still be a venue of my *ehem* CRAZYNESS. Since I will be living in a new State, sure you will experience new posts. Hope you'll still like it without the Pilipinas side of my story...

Tinaling dilaw na pag-asa ni Noynoy

Mayroon parin kayang buhay?

Buhay ay ibinuwis ng kanyang ama

Laban sa ating mithing demokrasya

Ina'y tumayo't lumaban sa EDSA

Kalat na baya'y pinagkaisa

Tuwid na daan daw ay aabutin nya

Tila nanahimik kaparis ng wangwang sa kalsada

Anong tamis ng mga salita

kung ito'y wala naman sa gawa?

Ramdam daw nya ang ating sakit

Bawat sigaw, bawat hinagpis

Bawat isa ay diringgin 

Parang pangakong kakabit sa singsing

Galit sa pamalaang bulag at bingi

Ngayon, tayo kaya ay naririnig?

Namumunhi sa pamumunong manhid
