The Velveteen
The Velveteen Rabbit or How Toys Become Real is a children's novel written by Margery Williams and illustrated by William Nicholson.
I'm not fond of reading Children novels, for I find it too magical and too dramatic. I came across the story of The Velveteen Rabbit while I was reading The Little Prince. The velveteen was used, I don't know if it was an introduction to the book or something else, but it was there in excerpt.
The story of the Velveteen is about a stuffed rabbit and his quest to become real through the love of his owner. The book was first published in 1922 and has been republished for so many times already
Rabbit: Does 'real' mean having things that buzz inside you and a handle that sticks out? Rocking Horse: 'Real' isn't how you're made, it's a thing that happens to you. Love makes you real. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but really loves you, then you've become real. Once you're real, you can't become un-real again. It lasts for always.
Here's a video of what I'm talking about.... enjoy, fave fun, Be REAL.
