The BLACK MAMBA?





The Black Mamba is a short film by Nike Basketball production staring Kobe, Kanye West, Bruce Willis, and Danny Trejo.


The film brings Kobe’s alter ego, the Black Mamba to life in a way that’s never been seen before. The Black Mamba highlights Kobe’s everyday determination and “fight to the finish” spirit. The film also showcases Kobe as one of the best basketball players in the world, featuring him as a “protector" of basketball as he fights off those wishing to destroy and attack the game.

The film is under the direction of Robert Rodriguez who at the same time directed as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), The Faculty (1998), Spy Kids (2001), Sin City (2005), Planet Terror (2007), and Machete (2010). 

The film will be launched to the public on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at 1:00 am PST. Fans can sign up via http://nikebasketball.com to be the first to see the film.

In the Philippines, The film will be launched to consumers on Saturday, February 19, 2011, 6:00 p.m. at the Ronac ART Center, Ortigas Avenue, Greenhills, San Juan. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. 

With the launch of the film is the unveiling of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI.  The Nike Zoom Kobe VI is a performance basketball shoe inspired by the black mamba. The design draws cues from this fearsome snake and incorporates key performance elements in a low-profile shoe that weighs just 10.6 ounces in a men’s US size 9.

  1. The fact that it has Kanye West, one of the biggest egos in the entertainment business, is enough to make me steer clear of this one. Bruce Willis and Danny Trejo surely don't need work that badly.
