Celebrated every year in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, Oktoberfest is one of the most famous events in Germany and the world's largest fair with about six million people attending every year up to 16 days, beginning late September to the first October week-end.

In Munich, this Bavarian Festival is celebrated with visitors eating huge amounts of traditional hearty fare such as Hendl (chicken), Schweinsbraten (roast pork), Haxn (pork knuckle),[citation needed] Steckerlfisch (grilled fish on a stick), Würstl (sausages) along with Brezn (Pretzel), Knödel (potato or bread dumplings), Kasspatzn (cheese noodles), Reiberdatschi (potato pancakes), Sauerkraut or Blaukraut (red cabbage) along with such Bavarian delicacies as Obatzda (a fatty, spiced cheese-butter concoction) and Weisswurst (a white sausage).

In the Philippines, Oktoberfest is a yearly month-long beer festival, jam-packed with activities happening simultaneously across the Philippine shores. The celebration is kicked off in the first days of October, and closed with a major shindig thirty days later, sponsored by the country's two major beer corporations, San Miguel Corporation and Asia Brewery, Inc.. Locals and tourists particularly enjoy the much-awaited line-up of concerts and rave parties with over-flowing beer held during the weekends of October in Manila, Cebu, Davao and other parts of the Philippines.

This year, San Miguel Beer promises to “bring to life the world’s much-anticipated annual beer event”, Oktoberfest 2010, “in a magnificent fashion.” Starting its kick-off party on September 10 at the SM Mall of Asia will feature a never-before-seen 3D light and sound show.
