Tricking and Treating

Halloween is one of the anticipated time of the year in every Filipino Family. It’s the time where most of the relatives reunite against their busy schedules and plan the coming Christmas holiday.

I never cherished the time of Halloween when I was younger. I may have enjoyed it but only for the food, the candle ball making in the cemetery and the no class day. It’s only now that I truly appreciate the non-working holiday. It's a day break from the busy streets and congested area of Metro Manila.

The air here in the province is very refreshing. Being with the whole family is very heartwarming. It prepares me new positive energies when I'm back to the battlefield of my workplace. We may have a little heart problem drama c/o of my brother and his [bitch] ex but everything is still relaxing and truly a memory to cherish.

I will be spending half of the day at the cemetery. Spending the day there brings back a lot of memories... especially those sad memories of my loved ones burial/interment. The pains are back and the next was a tear falling down my cheeks.

Originally, this post was supposed to be about how a Filipino family spends the All Soul's  Day and Halloween. But it ended up another emo post. But when I think about it... thinking about the memories of the departed loved ones and feeling sad that they can't be here with us anymore, no matter how long we spend the whole day at the cemetery... is how a true Filipino should dedicate a special day for the Soul.

Happy All Souls Day!
All souls are SAINTS!
Happy All Saints Day!

Pier Roxas - 8 Days Lost Hunk

Lately, we’ve been seeing a TV commercial of this hunk, Pier Roxas, asking for help about his lost memory? Pier claims that he lost his memory for 8 days and doesn't know the story behind the bruise on his face, the lipstick stain on his collar, a parking ticket, a sim card, the Nokia N8, etc. After showing off the leads to his 8 days lost memory, Pier even spray painted a number you can call to help him out.

Don’t let this hunk fool you. It’s a promotion between Nokia and Smart Gold where you get a chance to win a Nokia N8 cell phone by constructing your very own version, the most creative that it can be, of what happened to Pier in his missing 8 days memory.

Easy A: Let's not and say we did

When this trailer was posted on my FB wall with the message, "look at Amanda Bynes", I quickly hit the play to see what the story is all about. I am a fan of Amanda Bynes. I love her movies: What a girl wants, She's the Man, Sydney White, etc. I thought she got the lead role in this movie, but this time she's playing something different from her old roles.

Easy A is a movie about a High School girl--Olive--that turned her boring school life to excitement the day when she told a little white lie  about losing her virginity to help out her gay friend.

After the LIE, lot's of the school's underground gays wanted Olive's help. Though Olive's intentions are noble, people from the school started hating and judging her. As a means to cope with the rumor mill (inspired by Nathanial Hawthorn's Scarlet Letter and peer suggestion), Olive embroiders a red "A" on her entire wardrobe.

Starring: Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Dan Byrd, Thomas Haden Church
Directed by: Will Gluck
Genres: Romance, Comedy
Release Date: September 17, 2010
DVD Release Date: December 21, 2010

Don't expect too much about the Movie--it's a classic about high school life film. Just enjoy the  theatrical watch, the comedy, the fun, the faking and be high school all over again.  Hey! It's been awhile since we had a memorable HS Flick like Clueless and Mean Girls, so better enjoy this ONE!

High school: first kisses, raging hormones, mean girls, and trying to fit in. Find them all on EASY A, a cool teen comedy coming to cinemas Nov 10. - Columbia Pictures PH

There are different kinds of shoes for different occasions and people. I love heels and among my favorites are the wedges and cone heels.

What about you? What are your favorites among these?

Different Women Shoe Styles
Ankle Straps

An ankle strap shoe has one or multiple straps that, as the very name suggests, fasten around the ankle. Straps can include laces, ribbons and other material to wrap around the lower part of the leg.

Ballet Flats
Also known as ballerina flats, the ballet flats have been inspired from ballet shoes and have become useful for women of all shapes and sizes. A ballet flat is a flat heeled, enclosed shoe, almost like a slipper. It is easy to slip on and is available in different designs and shapes, with beads, jewels, fringes and flowers.

Kitten Heels

Kitten heels have a thin-based low heel that tapers sharply to a narrow base. The heel is usually 1.5 inches or less and is slightly set in from the back of the shoe. These shoes combine comfort with a little bit of extra height and go well with most outfits.

French Heels

French heels are shoes with a medium height, having a curved heel that is somewhat chunkier than a Kitten heel.

Mary Janes

A Mary Jane reminds you of your school days, as it is like the round-toed, low-heeled shoe that children wear to school. A distinctive feature of Mary Jane is the single or double strap that crosses the middle top of the foot. It comes in varying heights and styles.

Mules

A mule is covered in the front, just like a normal shoe and the back is open. It is easy to slip on and comes in various heights and different heel shapes.

Pumps

Pumps are low cut shoes that surround the foot without any fastenings. They are available in leather, micro fiber and other fabrics.

Peep Toes

A peep toes shoe is open at the tip of the toes, to show part of the toes, but not the whole toe line. The opening of the shoe is small and rounded or wedge shaped.

Platform Shoes

Platform shoes are thick soles that sit under the front part of the foot and are combined with wedges, chunky heels or stilettos. They are known as platform wedges, when they are combined with a wedge heel.

Sandals

Sandals are shoes with open toes and backs, with single or multiple straps for fastening. A number of sandal designs are available, depending on the type and material of straps and height of heels.

Sling-backs

Sling backs are a cross between a mule and a full shoe. They have a strap that connects the sides and back to the front of the shoe, instead of a closed back. They come in varying heights and can have open toes or a fully closed front.

Stiletto Heels

Stilettos or spiked heels refer to high heels that are pointy and thin. The slender and very feminine heels can be as high as 6 inches.

Wedge Heels

A wedge is based on the same shape as a triangular door-stop. The heel extends from the back of the shoe to right under the foot, thus running in a wedge shape from back to front. Wedges come in different heights.

Oh, there's alway a room
for another pair of shoes!!!

2010 Barangay & SK Elections

Nothing will beat the Presidential elections but it was also fun voting for the people nearer and closer to your heart in the Barangay and SK Elections.

It wasn't my first time voting for the Barangay and SK Elections. But what's odd is that why do I feel like it's my first time voting for this? I couldn't remember who I voted, where I voted... But I'm pretty sure I already experienced voting for this level.

Anyways, I already have the list of people who I will be voting. Of course, just like the Presidential elections, our family have a solid vote to this one. The family that prays together, votes together. Vote of one, vote of all.

PEACEFUL BARANGAY AND SK ELECTIONS TO EVERYONE!
